While some females may hold off to 10-18 months, be prepared to have her come into heat at 6 months!

You'd be better off getting her spayed first and letting George mature fully.
Moka went into heat at 9 months old.

WRONG! You want that little girl to have a season if possible. And your male to grow too. Neutering at a young age can cause osteosarcoma, from interrupting bone growth.

Can you wait until the first sign of a season and pass him to a friend? Or board him/her? Can the breeder take one back while she's in season?

    So many reasons to wait.

If you feel confident enough to raise littermates, you should be able to keep 2 dogs apart while your girl is in season while you wait for both dogs to become old enough to alter.

    Hi,

Yes we will definately be spaying Roxie in the end we are just going to let her have her first season before we do it.
We just plan to castrate George first to eliminate any potential 'accident'.

You really should research the consequences of neutering a dog that young. There is a lot of info on this board about it. He is much better off being allowed to fully mature before neutering (at least 12 months and preferably 18).
