I wouldn't put Labs on the list of diggers, like Siberian Huskies and terriers, but most dogs will dig, especially if they're bored or it's hot. One way you can prevent Bella from digging where you don't want her to is to give her a place where she is allowed to dig. You can make a simple sandbox by putting sand or dirt in a plastic kiddie pool. When she's digging someplace else, take her to the sandbox. You can stick some biscuits in it to encourage her to dig there (leave a little bit sticking out at first so she can see them).

    WELCOME!!!
My two aren't really diggers so I have no experience with that, but I did see someone once say to bury their poop where they dig and that will deter them from digging in that spot.
It's a tough life.....but someone has to do it.

Welcome... My pup os almost 7 months and he's starting to dig too. I left him outside saturday on a long lead while I cleaned and he dug his bone in my flower bed. Ruined it!! I don't have an answer for you b/c when I scold my pup he throws temper tantrums.

Typically, dogs left to their own devises in a yard unsupervised will dig. Dogs dig, so you can stop it by supervising and telling the dog NO when you catch them doing the unwanted behavior...same training for just about anything with your dog.
