Hi everyone, thought I would join this forum as I am a first time dog owner with Alfie, who is a black lab, 8 months old. His KC name was 'Sularich Generating Havoc' which, as it is quite a mouthful, was quickly changed to Alfie :-)
I have always kept lots of cats, been known as a mad cat lady, but as a recent convert to a dog owner, I must say I wish I had owned dogs before. Alfie is such a beautiful dog, fantastic temperament and he's just a teddy bear. He has his faults of course, like we all do, so I thought Id join in and will add some questions if I get stuck with any problems with him.
As a first time dog owner I am learning as I go, so thanks for any help and info you can give me. Love Denise and Alfie.

Im having trouble with signature pic, lets see if this works?
If anyone can help with uploading pics, I would be grateful, I am following the instructions but nothings working correctly for me :-(
Do you have aphoto bucket? Well when you get one download pics and then copy the url code. Click on it and it will say copied got to signature click past and then preview signature to see if it works. Then wants you see it is right click upload. Don't put it in the box thats say url here but in the box that you would type a message in. You can do the same thing if you want to put them in post.
Good luck with alphie.
~It doesn't matter how smart the dog is,it matters how smart the owner is.
This thread tells you how to post pics. Same as for a siggy pic.

How does Alphie get along with your cats?
We have two cats but one is quite wild so there's no chance that Duke will ever befriend her. The other cat (very laid back) seems to tease him until he chases him.
Yay! somethings appeared! Will have to remember now what code I used from PB. How old are your two?
Bookworm, its a bit chaotic at times. My oldest cat (of five) will take no nonsense from Alfie, even though he is massive compared to her and towers above her, she struts past him and hisses and he runs away, he's frightened of the old girl! The youngest, Polo, loves him and he loves Polo, they often sit with Alfie licking Polo which he loves, but Ive noticed that little Polo has to be sitting higher up than the pup for him to feel comfortable around him. The other cats just use avoidance techniques lol, generally its harmonious if he gives the cats some space. Ive also put a pet gate across the bottom of the staircase so that the cats have their own 'space' upstairs.
Oh god ........ that face!
