Hi everyone I am Christina from WA state and been in labs since i was knee high to a grasshopper. My grandma bred labs and i grew up showing in conf/obed/field trials and I also did 4-h for a number of years. I only have one lab at the moment and he's 14 years old. I am looking to get a pup this spring/summer.
Looking forward to being a part of this group.
I knew you had to be in Oregon or Washington Welcome to the board- Di
Sharon, Blaise and Diesel.
Welcome - when you said "Land of the Rain", I thought for sure you were from Vancouver, BC, as that is where I am and we've had so much rain lately, I'm turning into a prune.
I would love to see pictures of your 14 year old!! What a fantastic age -- I have a 13 year old and she is just the sweetest.
Welcome to this site.
thank you for the welcomes. I will have to get pictures up soon. My 14 yo "Dexter" is still going strong, just slowing down a bit. I love him dearly and tell him everyday he must live forever. He is a son of CH Aliho's Igloo Iggy UDX MH and like his father excelled in all areas of dog sports and i had so much fun growing up with him. He was one of my juniors/4-h dogs. He is AKC pointed but silly me strayed away from the lab ring into the toy breeds for awhile. I put his CD, working certificate and 2 JH wings on him and he had the potential to go alot further, but i was a teenager and discovered human boys were more fun to spend weekends with. lol I had semen collected from Dexter when he was 8.5 years old and entered him in the classes just for the heck of it and much to my suprise was awarded best of winners that day. During photos the judge told me that Dex could teach a lot of the youngsters a thing or two about how to move and is proof that a good dog can compete at any age" I smiled and told the nice judge that Dexter hadn't seen the inside of a ring in years but i was thanful for the pretty ribbons and points to take with him to his neuter appointment the following week.lol Oh i must dig out and scan that picture.
When you said land of rain I thought you were from N.Z. ..or Oz..sorry Garth. lol. We seem to have had our share this summer.
Welcome and Dex sounds a great dog.
