Just found this site while watching a a YouTube video, I was looking around for Lab clips & found a dogs 101 clip where someone was wearing a Just Labs baseball style cap & then I pause the video & looked you guys up & here I am.
I've had a Great Dane Growing up & then a Pit Bull & the Pit liked the water & I thought that was so fun that I decided then ( Over 20 years ago ) my next dog must love the water & swimming.
My wife has had about 3 Labs growing up & loves them.
She's never had a Chocolate & so that's what we're gonna get, I already found a breeder I like & She has a bitch in heat, so I figure in a few months I'll be bring home my puppy.
I considered my self pretty good at training my dogs back then ( over 20 years ago ) & look forward to training my lab.
I do have two concerns though, my work is very hit & miss & when its hit I'm hardly ever home.
So it will effect the training. ( I dont know how much of a trainer type my wife will be. )
I also worry about the non-threatening rep that Labs have, because I want him to seem very scary to anyone that is thinking about breaking into or home.
A lot of times I'm working nights & the wife is home alone.
I love fishing & that's another reason I wanted a Lab being I'm out in our boat a lot & want to bring the dog.
Do you think a Lab is a good enough swimmer to drag a full grow human to the shore?
I want to train him for that, just in case.
Anyways I know I'm rambling, just wanted to tell you a bit about myself.
Looking forward to making lots of On-Line friends here & learning a lot.
Welcome and good luck with the new pup, looking forward to some pic's of the little guy
Welcome. Good luck with the puppy. Wait? There are Just Labs baseball caps?
Just wanted to say Welcome! You might want to post your questions in the Lab Chat area, you'll probably get your answers there.
Thanks for the welcomes guys.
Tomorrow we start on the yard enclosure so the puppy can run free without us worrying about him getting out or someone reaching & taking him.
To be honest I doubt I'd leave out in the yard much alone for a few months anyways.

Hi Blanco, I was wondering where are you picking up the Choco lab from? I was looking at a breeder in San Diego (cedar ranch labs). I am interested to own a puppy by summertime.
