    Defaultweekend hunt tests

Well, how did those of you also running this weekend do???

    Our report --
Summer earned Junior leg #2 today -- long marks on land (judges said they were 105 and 100 yards) and her flyer on land was very alive but she had no trouble picking it up and bringing it in. One shorter mark on water followed by another long shot flyer, again she had a wing waving at her but because the pond had lots of "duck weed" in it she didn't see the wave until she was almost on the bird. She drove hard to the bird on all marks. I didn't check her scores as the judges complemented me on her work and the gallery did a lot of clapping so I feel confident she had good marks. No tests now in the area until 8/16 but we train the next 2 days at different sites as I am off work this week.

We only ran on Sunday, and it was a complete flip flop of last weekend....Rookie passed with flying colors and Rider dinged out on the first bird. It was the live flyer and it was down a hill and he had a nice line to it. Unfortuantely, there was tall grass and cat tails just beyond the fall and for some reason Rider got hung up in there and never came out to wind the bird where it landed. So, after a while I brought him in because he was in danger of over heating. When I finally got him back, his nose was bleeding because it got cut up in the reeds and saw grass. So Rider still only has two passes and Rookie has one pass after 3 total tests.

Rookie was amazing. He was dead on. His two littermates where there too...and they passed as well. Here is a picture of them with their ribbons....

From left to right, Rookie, Bono and Friday.

It was a great time anyways!

Congratulations to everyone who passed. Our tests have been shut down since late May until mid-September due to the temps. Then something virtually very weekend from mid-September to mid-November.
