DefaultUsing a checkcord in the water

    Hello all,

I have been working with my 5 month old puppy on very basic water retrieves and swimming. I'd like to be able to use a checkcord for more control/corrections, but I've wondered about the safety (especially in cattails, high weeds, etc). Any thoughts? He's still a little young for a remote electronic collar, but that will be an option down the road.

Disclaimer: This is my first time training a dog, so I fully admit to making some rookie mistakes. Any advice would be helpful.

    Thank you.

no. Don't do it.... Too many things can be underwater that we can't see and what if pup is snagged out there and taken under?
