Watching the repeat of the show last night reminded me to ask- I noticed he had what appeared to be a snow nose, which I thought was a little odd. I thought that was a fault in the breed ring. I'm asking because Caleb has a little pink stip across the top of his nose (I noticed it about a month ago).
Snow nose is not a fault. It is a seasonal thing. I know my gang will lose pigment over the winter on the nose leather itself, but you can see the dark black pigment on the skin surrounding the nose as well as eyes, lips, etc.
I think you are confusing snow nose with a dudley.
The DQ is a nose that LACKS PIGMENT. Even the 'dudley' nose isn't really a DQ (if you are meaning the liver pigmented yellow...it's not preferred but not a DQ).
From the LRC website:Originally Posted by CYNLABSThat would be a disqualification. A Dudley is a dog with flesh colored pigment not only of the nose, but also eye rims, lips, pads, etc. Pink would be flesh colored.A thoroughly pink nose or one lacking in any pigment.
Nope, Mick was a dudley. Just didn't know snow nose wasn't a DQ. Thanks guys!Originally Posted by nwlabs
