    DefaultShowing UKC

I am in my first UKC show this weekend. Any of you show in both? Are there any differences I need to know about ahead of time?

I show both. Some things that I can think of off the top of my head that are different are...

-bait isn't always allowed...they should post whether or not that particular judge allows it by the ring
-hand stacking is much more common
    -you show the bite yourself
-breeds don't have a specific time in the ring, so it could be a long day

    Have fun!

Thanks, I thought I heard about bait.* If it posts No Bait, would that mean no toys or anything?* Or just no food?

Hand-stacking is great, we do better that way.* I'll have to practice showing the bite...

Hopefully the day isn't too long...Saturday is a two-show day.* 9AM and then supposedly 1PM.* Sunday is just one.* We entered all three with Hudler.*

If we like it, I'll probably get the other 2 registered UKC and start doing their shows too.

No bait means nothing but you and the dog in the ring...no treats or toys.

If bait is allowed, throwing is not. If you decide to toss a treat to your dog, make sure he can catch...if he doesn't, the judge could excuse you from the ring for throwing bait.

It's a very laid back type of show, kind of a match feeling. For the most part everyone is friendly and helpful so if you have a question, just grab someone

UKC was fun. I will definately show with them again. Hudler was Winners Dog in both shows today which earned him 10 points towards his CH for each win. Tomorrow we have one more show. So it was pretty nice!
