My sister- and brother-in-law gave me Mary Roslin Williams' Reaching for the Stars (formerly Advanced Labrador Breeding) as a birthday gift. I'm so excited. I'm half way through The Dog in Motion right now. As soon as I finish that book, I'll start reading MRW's book. I'm so excited.
Has anybody read this book? Do you think it's a good read? I flipped through the photos and saw some of Scotty's relatives.
To possibly anticipate questions, no, I'm not goint to breed in the near future. I am in the learning stage now. If I will ever breed, it will not be sooner than 6-10 years from now.
I have it. I didn't read the whole thing through because I bought it with about 5 other dog books (Gift Certificate from Amazon!!) but I picked and chose which chapters I wanted to read and I thought it was excellent.
It's definately worth reading for those who are interested in labs and those who want to take the next step...into breeding.
I have it also and have read it a few times already and have lent it to breeder friends. LOVE the book - it makes so much sense and it is timeless.
Great reference book. I still use and got a copy of Advanced when it was first published years ago for Christmas. Finally family told me to 'put the bloody book away and mix with the people'. LOL
I love that book!
