Hello all this is my boy Sampson he is 1 was wondering what everyone thinks. I am looking into showing him but I am new to this and am also considering breeding him providing his hip elbow scores come back good. Thanks for any feedback positive or negative
He looks like a nice pet. I don't know how it is in your country, but in the USA we have a terrible problem with chocolates and light eyes. Unfortunately, your dog looks like it has the lighter eye.
Thanks yellowbelly. We are in Aus yeah his eyes look pretty light in this picture don't normally seem that light but it was a very hot summer morning. I contacted my breeder and she said he should be fine to show as she shows his dam and his sire is LRC of the Potomac best of breed champion.
Not every puppy out of a litter from champions is a show dog. If your breeder hasn't personally looked at the dog other than photos, you still need to get a good opinion. You can show any dog. But if you don't want to throw your money away, you need to make sure your dog is competitive.
Which Potomac winner is the dad?
Yeah i understand not every pup from a litter will be show worthy. My vet is going to have a look over him next week and iam trying to organize the judge at our local shows to have a look at him before i enter any shows.
His dad is "John Kaffe", Chablais John Kaffe
Yeah, I heard Johnny was in Australia. I would not bother with the vet, they know nothing about show dogs. I would find a lab breeder to evaluate your dog.
As usual, yellowbelly makes an "all inclusive" statement about vets and show dogs. It just so happens that at least two Vets in Texas own and show Labradors and they are darned good ones. You might ask your vet if he/she shows dogs or could recommend a local person who is involved in the sport. Good luck with your pup!
Thankyou yeah i will ask my vet when i take him for his check up. I know the receptionist at my vet shows and is involved in obedience. Thank you for the advice once i have some trained eyes look over him will report back thanks again
Agree with Max Dad here. We are currently working with two Kennels; one of the kennels is owned/operated by two Vets.

Yes, he looks great. But he has to be extensively looking great for a show. Like extraordinary looking great. You can check some google pictures and see what I am telling you.
