    i prefer a snake chain collar with a 3 ft. nylon lead to match the dog.

    I have a variety, depending on the show... for my upcoming shows I think I will be using a light yellow-colored nylon slip collar (to match Monty) or a snake chain with either a matching lead or light tan leather lead for the AKC all-breed show, and an English slip lead for the specialty (all-lab) show.* *I have an entire "tool box" full of various leads/collars/etc.*

    Okay, here are some more:

    These sites have some loop-leads (and some nylon show "chokes"), which means they don't have snaps that can break. They also have simplicity leads which are often used at AKC all-breed shows with many breeds, including labs. I don't really like them all that much, though. LOL
