Long story....our beautiful little black (Canadian Ch Wassookeag's Jackson Blacke) has borderline hips so alas we determined his show days were over. People said he was too small for the United States anyway, he just makes height standard and weighs 73lbs.
We decided to concentrate on our young yellow male, Ben. My husband wanted to try showing. He blew it so badly on the first day that I made him practice down the hotel floor! Next day he was better but when the judge gave him the win, he jokingly said "in spite of his handler". He took Ben to Best of Breed (picture) but totally blew Group.
Next show I decide to show Ben but pull Jackson out of retirement so that Jeff could practice on an easier dog. Ben was absolutely Mr. Wigglebutt for me (he behaves much better for my husband) so the next day I gave Ben to Jeff and I showed Jackson. Jackson went Best of Winners (picture coming)! It's bittersweet as he can't be used for breeding (and a few have asked) but still...I finally showed a dog to a point and I get one of those great pictures with me in it!
Beautiful boy. How old is he?
