DefaultLaura, other breeders & conf. peeps!

Would you please post the critera and a pic with lines/arrows demonstrating a properly stacked dog?

Eg. Hocks should be straight up and down, head straight ahead, where rear feet should be in relation to hips/stifle etc?

    Does this make sense?

I need to learn how to stack Ollie properly!

    Thanks!!

Great idea Felicia! Maybe the post with that info can be a sticky for the Conf/Showing section?

Look at that picture of the black puppy I posted in the other thread.

Its simple Felicia LOL, looks like you had him pretty well stacked up in the pictures you posted on dorks..

Front feet should go straight down to the ground, back feet should line up with the butt, depending on angulation, so that the hock is straight up and down.

You're more than welcome to practice with my wiggle butt, it seems as though Smallie has it all worked out already

Here's Seamus. His front feet need to be back just a tad, but his rear is perfect.

Now here's Matilda, yes she's pregnant in that pic. Her front if perfect, the line goes right through her toes, but her rear needed to be put back just a tad.

    Thanks Melissa! Thanks Laura!

So the two main goals then are to have front feet straight to the ground, and for the rear legs, to have the hock straight up and down?

So in this pic, his rear legs needed to be out a bit more, right? But the front legs are good? (eek... his right rear foot is a little wonky! )

I need to emulate this... yes?

Somewhere between the dining room table and grooming table is about right Felicia, he's way over extended because he's growing. Once he grows into that rear, you won't have to stretch him so far back to make the hock stand perpendicular

Not at all... I don't know where he's putting all that extra food though... I think perhaps he's hiding it in his cheeks like a hamster, and then one day I'll be cleaning and find a whole pile of food behind the couch or something... either that or he's sticking his paw down his throat in the backyard. lol.
