What is Labrador Life Line, Inc.? It seems that there is one characteristic of Labrador Retriever Lovers that is world wide... They CARE. They care about each other, their families (which includes their furkids) and they care about others who run across hard times, they have hearts.

Lab Lovers were saddened to learn that there was no place for families of ill or injured furkids to turn for assistance with medical or other needs without surrendering their family member to a rescue group or having to make that ultimate decision because there wasn't enought money to fix the problem... this caused a lot of talk.

For many, this discussion would have ended with talk, but this is where the "heart" part comes in. Several Lab lovers took that talk a few steps further and Labrador Life Line was born. After dotting all of the "i"s and crossing all of the "t"s, Labrador Life Line became a 501 (c) (3) not for profit organization and set out on a mission to aid those purebred Labrador Retrievers in need of new homes, urgent medical care, or other assistance in order to live a full and productive life, to alleviate needless suffering and death of America's most beloved canine companion. Labrador Life Line is determined to alleviate such tragedies through the efforts of its volunteers wherever and whenever possible. These dogs simply deserve no less. . Since early 1999, with the generous support of list members from the Labsr4U email list and lab lovers in general, Labrador Life Line has assisted more than 225 Labrador Retrievers in the United States, Canada and Scotland... from Chloe, a sweet Chocolate female with a very leaky faucet to Chance, who does all his dancing in the dark due to Retinal Dysplasia to Toby who needed a tumor removed to "Subby" who with the help of a Golden Retriever Rescue and LLL found a new family and a new name... now here he is (on the left) as Miles with part of his new family:

And MY personal favorite - Katie...Image

Please see why I like Katie's story in her owner's words at:

Katie and others like her are the reason the board volunteers their time and effort!

LLL has 3 fundraisers each year... in February there is the Heart Dog Auction, in June there is the Cyber Dog-Show and at the first of September is the Labor of Love Auction. The auctions are supported by generous people and companies on both ends.... the wonderful items are donated and the wonderful suppporters bid and bid and bid.... many times paying more than the stated value because they want to help LLL help those Labs we've yet to meet.

Other fundraisers include a printer cartridge recycling program that is zero cost to LLL and its supporters, and affiliate shopping thru the links from the LLL home page, One last project that we are working on is Life Savers, a program that allows donors to automatically donate $10, $20 or any amount per month thru PayPal. We hope to have all the details of this sponsorship finalized by the first of the year.

Our name and our logo were born on LabsR4U but our base is growing to include Lab Lovers everywhere. Please take a few minutes to visit http://www.labradorlifeline.org and see what the Labrador loving community has enabled LLL to accomplish and share LLL with your friends and family.

Thanks for reading this far!

Sincerely,
