We had a great time. Gorgeous weather...80...sunny...low humidity. Great hotel. Mainly stayed in the French Quarter though we did venture out to the Garden District one morning.
Had 2 fantastic dinners. One at Chef John Besh' August: Restaurant August | Chef John Besh | New Orleans Lousiana We did a 6 course tasting menu with wine pairings. Just amazing. Super fancy, great service and gorgeous presentations.
The other at Chef Susan Spicer's Beyona:
Bayona
This food tasted phenomenal. More of a homey feel to the food...everything was just perfect.
Did a couple of buggy tours...first one wasn't great...the tour guide didn't really give us any history. The second day we took a different one and got ALL the scoop on the history and went further into the French Quarter down by Frenchman's Street. Beautiful neighborhood. Did a cemetary tour which was informative, but wish we could have had more time in the cemetary.
And the hurricane drinks from Lafitte's...TROUBLE with a capital T.Enjoy the pictures!

Great pics!! Ooo I want the french toast. Looks like you had a blast Melissa.
Look at all that scrummy architecture!! Lovely!
What is the story on the house with the "fringe" on the porch roof (at the beginning of your pics)? It looks like... twines of fabric or something. I've never seen that before!
