In March for a 4 day long weekend with the couple we went to France with. Pete and I have never been. Hotel and flights are booked. I'm so ready for some sun and fun! I'm already looking at restaurants and they have 2 tours we're interested in. The Cocktail Tour (I'll be just going off my 6-week self imposed "on the wagon" diet so this should be interesting) and a nighttime "ghost" tour of the French Quarter.
Who has been and what are don't misses?

I went over 20 years ago, loved the food. Went to Johnnys Po Boys, had a soft shell crab po boy, yum. Café Du Monde is a must, must have café au lait and beignets. Also had great oysters and peel-and-eat shrimp.

August: Restaurant August | Chef John Besh | New Orleans Lousiana
Dante's Kitchen: Dante’s Kitchen
Muriels: Muriel's Jackson Square Dinner Menu
Thanks for the tip about the dogs. I will do my best not to take them all home in my carryon.

I stay every other month at the corner of Royal and Canal at the Holiday inn. I think you might like Deanies or Acme Oyster House for lunch. I'm a gumbo freak so every place I go I get a cup of gumbo and either a dozen charbroiled oysters or a lb of mudbugs.
