I gave Rowan PLAIN low fat yogurt, bananas, kibble..... apple, (all frozen). Not all together at once - usually.. yogurt and bananas, or yogurt and apples with kibble....
for a treat she would get a tbsp. of peanut butter.... occasionally.... the key is moderation....

lately it's been just kibble - but Rocky is just as happy with that. I stick in the kibble and stick it in the freezer.
I usually add abit of peanut butter (haven't as his stomach is still recovering these days) with the kibble. not too much as it can cause weight gain. yogurt (with no additives, just plain yogurt) works well too. Rocky is a fan of peas so i may stick some of those in there too (though high in sugar so i do limit those).
i used to smash up a banana, throw in some plain yogurt and some kibble and plug the end with a little peanut butter and freeze.

yogurt, applesauce, canned plain pumpkin, baby food sweet potato
and combos of those things usually form the glue
the chunks can be cookies they tolerate, kibble, meat, veggies, fruit - what rocks your boats
I rarely am organized enough to freeze them ahead of time but they sure last longer when I do
cheers

There has been some debate on this board as to whether you should use yogurt with a young pup, due to the extra calcium, so we avoid that with ours (just in case). I use applesauce (all natural, no flavors or sugars added) mixed with a little of his kibble, and freeze it.

I'm a mean mom, and mine only get dried stuff shoved in there. After coming home to defrosted yogurt on the couch one afternoon, that was enough of the liquid variety stuffing for me. I bake bigger cookies and shove a few in each Kong, sometimes with some PB so they don't come out easily.

I would never give yogurt to a young dog and I would be ticked if any of my puppy people did it, besides voiding their contract.

Good to hear your opinion on this as well! We try so hard to be sure our food has the right calcium levels for our pups, and then everyone keeps recommending yogurt for the kongs! This is the third thread or so recently I've seen regarding adding yogurt to a dogs diet, without consideration that the calcium isn't recommended for a pup.Originally Posted by labby

I was just going to ask this!
I am going to put some dry stuff in there today and I think I will buy a 2nd one and freeze that.
