Ernie is peeing inside.
I have had loads of my mothers washing and linen. After rainy days got it finished put it by the front door to take to the Salvation Army and Ernie peed on it all. She had a dog so I thought maybe he was marking. Even though it was clean. Washed it again and the toad did it again.
After we empted my mothers house he peed in each room. My brother thought this was hilarious.
Then a friend invited me to see her new sofa. Ernie walks in and I saw him position himself to lift his leg on it. Oh No...
He has peed inside twice recently and the door has been open.
I have been very busy lately and wondered if it is attention seeking.

Is Ernie neutered?
How do you react when you catch him doing it?
Make sure you clean the areas with something like Natures Miracle, otherwise he will probably keep doing it.

Yes Ernie was neutered at 10 weeks. (Yes stupid).Originally Posted by Trickster

Every other time he has done it I haven't seen him do it. I just find the puddle or the wet bag of washing.

it sounds like ernie is not fully housetrained.

mm This has got me thinking. He was five yesterday.Originally Posted by luke from georgia

He peed in the bedroom the visitors slept in a few months ago.

assuming that this were marking behavior, the treatment for the problem is the same as if it were a housetraining issue.* i would approach this problem as if ernie were not housetrained and work on conditioning him to potty outside in all situations.* dogs don't generalize well, so even if he is housetrained at your home, he may not understand that potty inside another home is against the rules, too.* the concept of being housetrained should apply to all indoor facilities.* a housetrained dog should not potty inside, even to scent mark objects.

For some reason he has a need to mark up the whole house and everything in it stating that it's HIS. Is he your only dog? Sounds like he may be itching to be leashed and tied to your side.
A dog should not mark in the house, regardless of being intact/neutered.
