Shadow has got to where when I go to check on him every evening he has turned over his dog food bowl. (Not really a bowl but as he eats the food will continue to flow out as he eats it). I have even changed it and the water. His water is on his right and food on the left. There is food all over the ground. I don't know whether he is eatting it off the ground or not.
What can I do about this?
What kind of bowl are you using? Metallic or plastic bowls are easily knocked over.
I use ceramic dog bowls and mine have never even tried to play with them.
Plastic.....I'll try some of those.
This is exactly what I use;
I have had mine for years. The only downside is that they can smash if you are not careful.
Another thing to do is to put whatever dish you use on a cookie baking sheet -- that way it's easy to empty.

Someone mentioned something to me about plastic dog bowls not being good for dogs. I don't know anything about that. Does anyone know?

When I first got him I used small metal dish and he would always knock it over. But after he got bigger I bought the elavated dish holder(the one that stores the food under it ) and he has not knocked it over since.

Scarlet was making a mess with her water bowl and it stained the wood cabinet behind her bowl. We just bought her a raised bowl holder with two heavy ceramic bowls. It's harder for her to get her paws in it and she can't splash around in the water anymore. Huge help.
We have a metal bowl that is very wide stanced so he can't bite it with rubber at the bottom so it odesn't slide. He hasn't knocked it over yet. $18 at petsmart.
