Default6 month old limps whenever getting up from a nap....

My sweet Hilly is a 6 month old chocolate lab pup and for as long as I can remember she has always limped when first getting up from a nap or after lounging for a bit. She may limp to the door, but the minute we step out for a walk or to run around in the yard she is absolutely fine and runs full throttle. We have thought nothing of it, but some family members noticed it this week while we were traveling and now I am concerned. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm going to feel terrible if I should have done something sooner. Thanks for helping out a new dog owner!

I haven't experienced this but I think I would talk to a vet and/or the breeder you purchased her from. I just don't think it's normal at that age to already have aches and pains, you know?

Definitely get some xrays but depending on where the limp is, some things are easier than others to spot. Your general vet may not be able to give you the answers, and if not, ask that he/she send the films to a board cert'd radiologist (or OFA) for interpretation. And no, that is NOT normal.

When you talk about a limp, you need to tell us front or back.

Check to see what protein level your food is. Could be related to a high protein diet. Or a tick borne disease.
