I don't know what kinds of birds of prey you have in Australia, but here in the states we hawks that can very easily pick up a puppy an fly off with it. Yes, even a Lab pup. Depending on the type of hawk, they can carry 15 pounds. That said, I don't have a problem with adult dogs spending time outside during the day- with the right set up.

Hehe Josie is 2 1/2 and weighs 35 kilos I think she's safe from the birds here in OZ..lol
