    Default New Puppy

We are getting a new lab puppy - he is 7 weeks today so I'm guessing we will go pick him up in a week or so. I did a crazy amount of research and found a great breeder who has bred bomb sniffing dogs, dogs for the blind, she's showed award winning dogs and all of her clients that I talked to highly recommended them and some bought multiple dogs from her over the years. So I trust them. However , I've only gotten 1 pic of our puppy so far (7 weeks) and I almost feel like I'm annoying reaching out every week to her for updates. My husband says to chill out,but I really want to see more pics of him and hear more about him over te next week before we get him. Do I relax and wait for the breeder to get back to me with final pickup info or do I reach out again? Just don't want to annoy them.

Breeders are usually busy. most breed as a "hobby" not as a job. So they have there job, family ect.. so they may not be able to always get back to you. Others with the breeder experience may be able to help you a little more! Congrats on the puppy!

Thank so much. That is exactly what my husband said - while I'm here chomping at the bit for this dog the breeder has bigger fish to fry than taking and uploading pictured for me every week! I'm just so excited!

I tend to agree with your husband. remember she has a number of SEVEN WEEK OLD puppies to care for! She's pretty busy And while some breeders are very much into sharing photos and daily updates, others are not. She DID send a photo so that is a start.

If you did your research and this is a reputable breeder (parents have all the clearances and it sounds like she competes with her dogs) - leave well enough alone. If you haven't confirmed pick up date I may send ONE single e-mail simply asking to confirm when that is and leave it at that. but even there, if you have been e-mailing every week...I may lay off altogether. I DEFINITELY would not ask about more pictures

The breeder we got Maxx from sent pictures, video and updates several times a week. I paid a good bit of money for my puppy and I would have been upset if the breeder had not been in contact with me. Does this breeder have a deposit from you?

I gave a small deposit In relation to what the puppy costs. I don't question at all that the breeder is legit, etc. and I know they have been doing this for years and are older, may not be as savvy with Internet, etc. I'm just antsy.

I remember being that excited! We had to drive 5 hrs to pick Maxx up and I could not wait to get that puppy in my arms! Good luck with your new baby, make sure you post pictures!

Have you paid your deposit? If so you should be locked in on getting your puppy. I wouldn't worry. I would call or email and lock down a pick up date.

Yes I paid my deposit. I guess I'll wait another couple of days and then call for pickup date. I wish it was tomorrow!
