i just want to say, i am no expert (quite the opposite) but i was just sharing my experiences with you. i also agree leash training is not needed yet. he is too young, is he fully inocculated yet to be outside (away from your home garden area)?

Unfortunately, in many countries, including my own, there is not enough legislation or enforcement regarding animal rights and animal breeding. That does not mean that anyone including me or the OP who adopts a young puppy is to blame. If it wasn't us, it would have been someone else who took it over.

It could be that i'm making a controversy out of nothing, but that is how I understood the comment.
As usual another poster wading in with an it's all about me attitude. I know that you are from Malta, but the OP was from India which was what my post referred to and Tanya's comments in reply to your "India" query were exactly as the post was meant !

Well, I start to leash train my pups BEFORE they go home at 8 weeks. Not a lot, but they do not freak out at a leash, they will give in to leash pressure. Yes, they may grab the leash in their mouth. Yes, at 6-7 weeks, I put the leash on, and let them drag it, or hold the leash and will follow wherever they go. Waiting another month or two may not be "necessary", but does not help either.

Max is 12 weeks old now and is extremely popular in my neighborhood because of his over friendly nature ..

He is a very smart pup and learns everything very fast. Biting problem is completely gone (Thanks to all the advice given by senior members) and is replaced with affectionate puppy licks. Loves to go out on leash (this came as a surprise to me, he loathed leash earlier)

However, i am facing one issue: After meals i take Max out for walk and he would invariably poop outside the home but won't pee. As soon as i am back home, he would pee in his designated area. In his early days, I used newspapers to train Max and i think this habit has been powerfully re-enforced. Can anyone tell me how to break this habit and make him pee outside the home?? Also, how often a pup pees?? Max pees atleast 7-8 times a day and i can't take him out every now and then. Any suggestions here??

Max doesn't has any health issues, eats 4 times a day and drinks a lot of water (this might be the reason but i can't keep him thirsty).

    cheers

I would feed him 3 times a day at this age. Also, it is difficult once you have taught a pup to pee on paper indoors, to get them to switch to outside. I would think he could hold his urine an hour and a half or 2 hrs by this age. Just keep being consistant with him. Keep taking him out to the same spot, and giving the same command. Sophie was trained by 4 months, so your pup is probably still a little young. Keep at it and do lots of praising when he goes outside.

I agree with most here. The pup at that young of an age is going to have to go very often. Expect this to happen for at least another few months, not too much you can do, you need to sleep every now and then. I got my puppy at 11weeks, and you have had yours for 2 months and its the same age. Pretty crazy! I always fed my dog 2x a day 1 cup each sitting and usually gave her a treat around lunch to hold her over. I didn't like the idea of her getting used to eating 3x a day, then later on change that. I guess to each their own (be careful how much you feed him, they will eat the whole bag if you let them). Once this pups body develops a little more, than it will be a much better experience for you. By 6 months, you should get your sleep back. The dog will began to teething soon, so when that happens they will start to nip again. Basically, their teeth are popping through their jaw, which is very irritating, itchy feeling, and their only way to deal with it is to chew on something. Try the hand cloth in the freezer for a few hours approach, that should make him happier.. At 11 weeks, when I picked her up I put her leash on and she was fine with it. So, around 3 months is a good time. I would stay away from any forced running, excessive jumping for awhile, the little pup is not developed enough for all that and could hurt her later on. GL and enjoy your new friend.
