I would redirect her when she is jumping up and biting at the person on the couch, give her a toy and place her on the floor; repeat, repeat, repeat. We didn't allow Bauer on the couch until he was about 7 months old, it took a lot of consistency. He loved toys, and we would lay toys all over the floor for him to play with (which would keep him occupied for a while).

This is your problem right here.
Dogs are very black and white. It's either okay to get on couches or it's not. I think -- especially w/a 10 week old (!) -- that you're expecting a lot of her to understand that while it's okay to get on THIS couch over HERE, it's not all right to get on THAT couch over THERE. Especially when YOU'RE on that couch over there!
Consistency is best. Either all couches are fair game or none of them are. At least at this age. Once she's matured and learned some of the basics of operating in your home, you can probably transition to a point where she's got access to some things and not to others.
Also -- this is coming from a house, unlike my buddies in the thread above, that does NOT allow dogs on ANY furniture, a rule we've really never had issues enforcing.
I do find that puppies want to spend a lot of time with their peeps, so some of the jumpiness may be a strong desire to be near you. Putting her bed nearby is probably a good idea, and make sure it's reachable for a pet or pat while you watch TV. Or you can do as I did and lie on the floor to watch TV. Nothing beats a puppy cuddling into the small of your back and nestling down for a nap!

The only furniture that Jack wanted on in the first place was the lazy boy that Doug was sitting on. That was mostly because the cat sat on Doug's knee. He sat and stared at the cat month after month. When he was quite big he just walked up to the chair with the foot piece up and stepped up onto it. He is only allowed on the chair when Doug is in the chair. We had to buy a new chair because a huge dog sitting on the foot piece does not work out. Anyway we kept the old chair and when Jack needs to bond Doug sits in the chair. When he tried to get into the new chair Doug just pushed him off. This is not negotiable. We gave him a loveseat that is still in good shape and showed him he could get in it. He sits in no other furniture. Just consistancy pushing him off when he trys to get up will do it. When we are camping in the fifth wheel he has no couch and he understands and has no problem with this. His bed is on the floor there and it works for him. We could have kept him from the chair and the loveseat that he has but we chose not to. He will adjust to just the one couch quite nicely and that is certainly fair. Judy and Jack

Your pup is very young. I found sitting on the floor with the puppy helped. Then put her away in the crate when you want some quiet time on the couch. I agree, giving her freedom on one couch and not the other is confusing. Let her know all furniture is off limits. Yes, it takes time and being consistent.
I confess, I also lost the battle and purchased throw blankets for the couch.![]()

Omg the photos of everyone's labs on the lounge are so cute! I love when Molly sits up with me but at the moment she prefers to sit under the lounge!
