She obviously needs go go out, if she is soiling her crate at night. How long are you leaving her without taking her out? She isn't doing it to spite you, so I am trying to understand why your dog club says not to take her out at night. Are you taking her out right before bed? How late do you feed her dinner? Now that she is 4 months old and has gone in her crate this long, she thinks its acceptable. If it were me, I'd take her out. Maybe someone else has some ideas....

my little girl is approaching 16 weeks and still cant quite go thru the night pee wise, i wake up and take her (a choice i made because I dint want to encourage her to do it inside). How long is she left in her crate during the daytime to need to pee in there?

I leave her for 2 hours 20 min . During the day and I feed her at 5 she goes out at eleven and I'm up at seven ... The dog club said not to take her out at night cause she would start expecting it

I would book a 2am poop break ! Have we talked crate size ? Teh crate shuldn't be too large either - just enough space for her to lie down as any bigger and she can mess away from her sleeping area. Get a crate divider if it's too big and that may help.

I wouldn't be taking too much notice of your dog club either from what you said ! You will get better information here !

    Good luck

I definitely wouldn't leave the crate door open! Not only could she just have an accident elsewhere but the things she could get in to and destroy and/or injure herself are not worth the risk. I would definitely take her for a potty break at night and right before you leave her during the day. I am not sure what type of a dog club you belong to but the fact that they would encourage you to allow the puppy to develope bad habits or even suffer disturbs me. I hope you stay on the forum, I think you will get advice that will help you and your puppy have a long and sucessful relationship! BTW, welcome.

Just have to listen to what your puppy needs and ask a lot of questions here. Welcome and good luck.
