    Default walk/exercise for a 9 week old

Hey all! I have a question about my lil boy.

From what I have experienced so far, if Finnegan is tired then we are all happy... He is a nut bar in the morning (around 7-9am) and evening (once again 7-9pm). Without a good dose of exercise around those times our lives are pure hell. BUT I have read so much about walking or too much exercise, so here is what we do:

Too avoid walking him near other dogs until he is vaccinated I take him to a friends driveway in the country in the morning. We "walk" for 10-15 mins (I say "walk" cause he spends half the time smelling everything).
He goes to sleep after that waking up for drinks of water, bathroom breaks, to chew a bone or quick easy play sessions (belly rubs or training stuff) - this lasts for pretty much the entire day.
Then around 7ish, as soon as he starts to act nutty, he goes into the backyard for 10-15 mins to chase a rolling ball or harder play sessions.

Is this too much? What we have been doing has REALLY helped with him trying to eat everything (including my daughter, the couch, my arm..etc...), it makes him easy to play with and listen a lot better. But he is also sleeping a lot more so I am worried we are over doing it.

Does this seem like too much?

at that age walks are just about wandering and should be short (5 minutes per month of age). If you are puttering and stopping 10-15 minutes is fine (if you were doing a power walk that would be different!) at that age you want lots of short sessions of free play, running around and such. off leash and at their own speed.

all in all sounds like what you are doing is great. if most of it as at his own pace and off leash you should be safe!

I will add - puppy kindergarden (which in some cases allow dogs starting at the age of yours) would be great as it would also allow more socialization in a safe environment. you are at an age where it is good to introduce as many things as possible, but obviously, in a safe way as they are also not fully immunized yet!

Looking forward to pictures! Funny what you call Nut-bar in your pup, we call Sophie in crack-dog mode! She is the same way. She has those crack dog episodes in mid day and late evening. She has them whether she has been excercised or not. She sure makes us laugh, running through the house like a bullet!! She is fast!
