    Default Teaching Jack to say "mama"

    This started by accident. When I first got Jack he would bark at me when I was watching TV and not paying him any attention. So I started praising him for whining and not barking, and then for making smaller noises instead of whining... and after a while he started making "mmmmm" noises for attention, and when one of them sounded like "mum" I decided to shape it into "mama".

    I've got it so when I'm watching tv and he wants attention, he'll try and say it. He's gotten pretty good at it. It usualy goes something like... "maw. Mmmm... mmm... MAW. Maw... MAW." But I digress.

    I want to get it so if I say "say mama" he says it... but right now he only says it in very specific situations. In front of the TV, when he wants attention but I refuse to make eye contact, he'll try make the "ma maaa" noise. Is there some way I can get it so he'll do it on command? It is really cute but I can never get him to do it around other people because he's already the center of attention.

    (I do have a video of this, but have no idea how to put it on my computer/put it online)

    CLICK IT!!!

    Have you done any clicker training? If not do a bit of foundation work so he "gets" it, and then have it with you, click and treat when he does what you're looking for.
