Default Is there a such thing as a "short" lab?

So, I just went to my neighbor/cousins house to see their new puppy and was shocked at what I saw. They told me that it was a "short" lab. This little puppy was found on the side of the road. I told them they need to bring to the vet ASAP! Anyways, they said the "lab" is 7 or 8 weeks old. This little puppy, named Sarah Beth, looks just like Cocoa(10 weeks tom) but weighs maybe 2 pounds. I am certainly sure Sarah Beth is NOT a full lab. Do you think she could be a "runt"? She is brown and has a little white on her chest but looks like a lab other than that. Anyone have an idea about what this puppy is?!? I am just so darn curious! She was the sweetest little thing! They said they didn't really want her so I told them I would take her if that was really the case!

A lot of small puppies with flop ears look similar. I very highly doubt that is a Lab if it's that small. She should be 15# give or take.

It will be very very hard to ID the breed of a puppy that age that is found. with all hte possibilities (breeds, mixes) it could be a number of things, time will tell. but at that weight...not too much lab in there most likely.

I agree she needs to go the the ASAP (like NOW) and be very very careful where she is brought, she could get real sick, real fast. if they are not sure they want her they should contacted rescues or the area shelters.

since you have a very young puppy yourself make sure to wash your hands before touching your puppy unil you know if this pup is healthy (especially if she was really found on the road and has not seen a vet) and I would not let htem interact until she has seen a vet (but that is just me, I am overly cautious)

Oh don't worry, I am just as cautious about Cocoa being around her! But also worried about her She is very little and they are leaving her outside. But as the people up North say, I live in the middle of "redneck" town!

Spike was the runt and he was 8 pounds when we brought him home at 8 weeks (could have been 7 weeks for him). At 2 pounds maybe something like a cocker/dachhound (sp) mix maybe? (just trying to blend faces )
