I brought Cocoa to the vet for his 9 week check-up and 10 in 1 shot! He was such a good boy, I am a proud momma! He weighs about 15 pounds. The vet says he is perfectly healthy! And he has NO fleasI just had to brag about my sweet boy!
So for my questions:
1. Do you cut nails yourself? If so, how often and what kind of nail clipper do you use?
2. This may sound crazy but is there anyway to know how big your puppy will be when he is fully grown? The mom is 60 pounds and dad is 80-90 pounds. Also, when is a lab fully grown?
***Thanks for anyone who helped with nipping problem, he is slowly getting better with that! Also, I believe that we have decided to keep him inside for the majority of the time! Although, I still think it is better for him to go outside when we will be gone for a long time during the day(we already have area prepared). I don't want to make him sleep outside! I also took the advice on just spraying off his dirt instead of bathing and it works great!!!! Thanks for all the help, I love coming here and getting great tips and advice![]()

1. I don't cut nails myself. Too scared. But if you do use the guillotine type. I take my pup to groomer whenever I notice they're really scratching me or very long.
2. I've heard what they are at 4 months weight you can double that and that's usually full frown weight. They are jot fully grown until 18 months, year and a half
3. Be very careful leaving him outside when your gone. I would not do that. You never know what could happen. Weather, animals, crazy people who might want a dog or don't like dogs. He's much safervin the house.
Lots of people Dremel their dogs nails ! Personally, both of mine allow me to clip them as they were trained from an early age.

Thanks! There is only one day a week that we are keeping him outside because I have school all day!
You might want to do a little research about multi vaccines like that. A 10 in 1 vaccine is hard on an adult dog's system to say nothing of a baby's. I would space out those vaccinations some. Not even sure what 10 vaccines your puppy would need anyway - mine did not get anywhere near that much.
Sharon - still not a dude.
It's a credible vet, I assume they know what they are doing. But thanks for the advice.
You are welcome. I have a credible vet too (from one of the best vet schools in the nation) - but I am still an informed consumer and have said "no thank you" to a number of unnecessary/optional vaccines offered. Like I said - you get informed and you might have a different idea about what you need to give your dog and what is not necessary. You can search on here and find a lot on this topic.

We gave Sophie 5 in 1....we were advised what Sharon said...plus we were told that some areas where people live don't need some of the vaccines...
I am in South Louisiana about 5 miles from the swamp.
Yes, I live a large distance away from both of you with a very different type of climate and enviroment!!! Who knows what kind of things are prevalent around here!!
