We have a 13 week old female chocolate lab, she loves to play and run and we have quite a few toys for her but here's the thing. She wants to bite and chew every thing other then her toys including hands feet arms and legs, when she starts play time she goes right pass the toys and right to a chair or couch, she even bites at the wall. if you pick her up she wants to bite your nose. And when we try and stop her from chewing other things shuch as the corner of the couch she gets kind of mean, and even meaner when we say NO! or Bad! How do we get her to focus only on her toys? I know of "bitter apple" and things like it, do any of them actually work? We baught one called "yuk" but she loves it instead of hating it.
We have stoped her and show her the toys, and in may last a moment and she goes right back to bad.
What to do?

Dogs are my favorite people.
No is to common of a command. Say something else like No bite. When she goes to chew or bite you say the command then give her,her own toys. It may take some time so be patient and consistant. Praise her when she chews on her own toys.

we have used "no bite" & good girl when she takes the toy, but like I said she goes right back to bad.

Keep working at it. It is not something that happens over night. It takes time and staying Consistant.

I agree with Deidre... It's really hard in the beginning. Try a loud YELP or OUCH then walk away for about 10 seconds come back and hand her a toy.
I got so frustrated with Avery b/c he did the same thing and the bitter apple spray made it worse, he loved it.
Consistancy and patience.

"A dog has no use for fancy cars, big homes, or designer clothes. A water log stick will do just fine. A dog doesn't care if your rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb. Give him your heart and he'll give you his. How many people can you say that about? How many people can make you feel rare and pure and special? How many people can make you feel extraordinary?"- John Grogan
