Puppy Barks After Crate Is Moved

We used to have the crate downstairs where she would sleep at night and she'd only whine softly for a minute or two after being crated. A few days ago, we moved it into our room. Ever since then, she has been yelping and barking and crying and everything in between. Is this normal when you move a crate to a different room? She calms down after 5-10 minutes but it's like starting crate training all over again! She doesnt seem to be getting better about the crying. It's the high pitch bark instead of the soft whine that is worrying me.

You moved her bedroom some where else, and if there are fewer people in the new room she might feel disconnected and removed. Have you tried draping a sheet/blanket over the crate to make it dark and "den-like"? That might help. I used to leave the door uncovered, but drape a sheet over the other sides.

Dogs are creatures of habit and changing a habit it not seamless usually. She'll get used to it eventually but you should expect any sort of transition to something new to be a little bit bumpy until she is an adult and better able to roll with the punches.
