We have Spike blocked out of our bedroom because he goes nuts in there. The cat knows it's a safe haven for her too. We would like to have the freedom on not having gates but Spike goes completely psycho when he gets in the bedroom/bathroom stealing things, jumping on the bed, moving at full speed. What can I do to get him to treat this area of the house like the rest? He's allowed on the couch but it's not his main place and he climbs up carefully when he does go there. Do you think a little supervised time each day would help?

i would bring him in on leash and correct the behavior. if there are things he goes for hat you can put away/out of reach that is great too. stay calm when you correct, don't add to the energy by yelling and chasing (though I assume you are NOT doing this, it was worth mentionning for anyone else reading). once he is ok on leash, let go of the leash but leave it on. practice when you have a few minute and do reward when he is calm (calm rewarding though)
