Not on people but on tables. She jumps up and puts her front palls on the table. How in the world do I break this? We have tried pushing her down with a firm no, watching her closely and telling her no before she jumps, spraying with a water bottle (which has no negative affect on a pup that loves water) Im at my wits end and just dont know what to do about this.
How do I teach "drop it"? When she was younger I would just pry her jaw open but she is getting really strong and I cant do that anymore. How can I teach her to drop something?

Personally I use mouse traps to cure counter surfing. There are some that are made specifically for this purpose that have a big red flapper on it. When the dog bumps it, it snaps. Iuse a regular mouse trap and point it away from the edge of the counter. I bait it with peanut butter also. Never had a dog get it's toes caught, and it generally cures the beavior rather quickly. (Tends to scare me more when I accidentally bump into it).
Have you tried offering a high value treat in "trade" for the item?

for jumping, have tasty stuff on the table. Sit at the table. When she jumps, give her a sit command. Once she sits, give her a treat (not the stuff on the table). She has to learn that if she sits, she will be rewarded. If she jumps, no reward. Eventually, you will be able to give her stuff from the table if you want, but she has to sit for it.
(Zoe was a jumper and this is what we did. She no longer jumps or counter surfs. We have all kinds of foods on the counter and she never tries to get them)
as for drop it, yes..what Karen said. trade for a high value treat. In our class, we had the dogs all chewing on pig ears. We then kept dropping liver treats in front of the dogs' faces. They eventually dropped the ear. Treat with the liver and then give the ear back. They need to learn that if they drop it, they may sometimes get it back. Sometimes not.
good luck
