Question Do any of your puppies do this????

Yesterday, we had friends over and they have 3 kids. Well, when Roxy saw the kids got all excited and stared jumping on them and she was SO excited that she pee on the floor. Do anyone have this issue when their puppy gets all excited? Does this is something that goes away after the puppy phase? Or does she will pee on the floor every single time that someone comes home?

    Thanks
    ~Roxy~

Its called submissive urination. Some dogs do it for quite a while but most will outgrow it when they mature.

My female Aussie pup does that whenever she gets overly excited, she did it more as a young puppy, but it still happens occasionally (she's 9 months now). Pretty sure they tend to grow out of it, no worries!

Thank god! I was worry that I would have to hide her or clean pee every single time that someone came home!

Hee hee yeah it happens. He still does it at times but very rarely. Never minded the floor, was embarrassed when the guest went home with wet shoes

Bentley does it every once in a while. I've learned to take him outside to potty first before they get here. Its like he has to pee but doesn't realize it until its coming out of him, then he acts embarrased and goes to the door. It has gotten better

As others have saiad, it will get better. For now, have whoever is coming in the house totally ignore the dog, don't look at it or anything. After the pup has calmed down some, thet can very quietly pet the dog. You may want to crate the pup for a little while when someone comes over, and still have them ignore the dog for a few minutes.

Thanks so much for the advices, I will try that. I can't wait until I can start taking her for walks in 2 weeks when she finish with all shoots. So she start getting more social and not so excited every single time that she sees someone.

I'm looking into puppy classes but the one at the SPCA you have to finish first with shoots and the classes start before she completes all the shoots and I don't want to do pet smart because heard that they are terrible!
