my boy is for the most part very good. just got his canine good citizen. been doing well with recall....until a week ago.
we once to twice a week will meet with another dog to play at park or water and gets to run free. he upon arrival starts to whimper, cry, bark and pace in the car and pretty much goes balistic. will NOT calm down, will NOT listen.
i am trying to not let him out until he settles. he is 8 months old. i don't know how to address this. i don't know if this is a passing faze. i don't want him to learn that he can get away not listening. would love suggestions. thank you
It sounds like you are doing the right things. It is tough. Your boy is just telling you how much he loves where you are taking him and how great you are. There are a couple places where I get the same reaction from my y 4year year old, who is otherwise very laid back and quiet in the car. My two granddogs (1 yr and 3 years) go nuts when their parents turn on to Camp Hershey Street.
Hershey Kisses, In charge of getting Ed out to the dog park so that he gets some exercise.
thank you. been talking to some others since i am a new dog owner. just going to keep socializing him.
My moms house has a pool and 32 acres. When I turn onto the street, Bella will whine a little and when she gets out, it's like she's in heaven. She plays with the kittens, swims, plays with the other dogs. I've taught her to sit and stay when throwing a ball, but the first couple months she was by the pool, that all goes out the window. She was just so excited to play and swim that she didn't care about staying or listening to me. After a lot of patience though she has gotten better. Just keep doin what you're doing, I'm sure he will come around![]()
Bella
Completely irrelevant to the thread, but Bella is beautiful!
