    Default HELP going for Walks

I have a 14 week old puppy we go for walks I am going CRAZY he picks up everything and trying to get it away from him he gets nuts part way through and to get what he picks up is terrible he will bolt with what he has (we use a flexi leash). The whole walk is just a nightmare. I had two other labs and they never did this I used A choke chain on them though. With my new puppy By them time the walk is almost over (because we shorten the route up) he will bolt at anyone coming down the side walk and trying to hold him back is very very hard. when my father and mom go in the morning he runs with him I had told him several times not to do that but he still does. Let see if I missed anything. I think that is all for now Please Please give me Help I cannot take it anymore

first - don't use a flexi. they are not ment for training and walks. they are ment for dogs that walk well on leash and there is lots of room (say in a park) so the dog can run. so if you are in a park then sure, put on the flexi and let the dog run abit but this is not "walking" or "training to walk", this is play time.

use a regular short leash, I would even recommend 4ft at first but most people use a 6ft leash. have treats with you and keep in contact with hte puppy (talk, reward when he is walking well).

HE MUST NOT GO FOR ON LEASH RUNS! not until he is two years old. he is a baby and even walks shouldn't be super long (most of his exercise at that age should be free play).

He is the perfect age for puppy class. Do you have any in the area you could get him enrolled in?
