Hi all, when walking our 5 month old puppy Max,all he wants to do is sniff from one spot to te next and very stubborn in doing so,takes nearly an hour to get around the block, lol.I've tried the treat thing but he just takes it and goes back to sniffing, any suggestions on how to get him to actually walk, lol.
I had the same issue, Everything is new to them.... it's hard for them to focus. Try practicing in a field or an area where he's less distracted. Then slowly progress to long walk. They get better. Avery's 7 months now and has days where he wants to sniff everything or he's really good.

"A dog has no use for fancy cars, big homes, or designer clothes. A water log stick will do just fine. A dog doesn't care if your rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb. Give him your heart and he'll give you his. How many people can you say that about? How many people can make you feel rare and pure and special? How many people can make you feel extraordinary?"- John Grogan
Train him out of it. Teach NO SNIFFING!

LOL,it's actually worse when he's in a field area,
NO SNIFFING seems a long long way away,
thanks for the advice.
