Bean waded in the river a little today. He wanted to take off and swim, but the 4 foot leash stopped him.
So how do I safely bring him swimming? Wouldn't a lead get tangled up?

A trainer once suggested to me, put a clasp on floating rope. Like Polypropylene rope.

Check out something like Cabela's. I bought one there for Diesel. It's made by Mendota, is 30 ft. long, it floats, and is thick enough to get a good grip on. Works great.

I got 30' of polypropylene and a clasp, hope my knot is secure! We're going out to find a harness today.

When we got Bentley we just put him on a long line for a week. Ever since he just swims without one, since he is a fantastic swimmer. With the long line you just have to watch your dog and know if there is a tree down in the pond were your dog is swimming.
