I have a 17 week old yellow lab who has been scratching alot. The vet suggested that I change her food. He believes that it may be a corn allergy/sensitivity. I am currently feeding her Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy food. He suggested Nature's Recipe instead. I noticed that the Pro Plan has 28% protein and the Nature's Recipe has only 22%. He doesn't feel that this matters but I am not so sure. Obviously I want to make sure she gets what she needs for proper growth and development. Any experience or advice on this would be appreciated.
Thanks
Maybe try the ProPlan Sensitive Skin and Stomach food. At 17 weeks, she can switch to adult without any issues. IMO, 22% protein is NOT enough protein for a Lab, plus I think their fat is low also. I also do not believe a Large Breed puppy food is needed, so I would definitely get her off of that.
