I figure once you hit 15, you start getting half birthdays. Ellis turned 15 and a HALF today. We were down in the desert for some climbing and camping - there was a bit of snow which he likes to play in - then we took him swimming - which he LOVES.
He hasn't been doing great these last few weeks, but today he must have known that my wife and I have been talking about the big decision - because he was as spry as ever - it was great to see.

<br />Ellis (brown) & Yukon (yellow) - Sadly, we helped Ellis "move along" on Feb 22, 2007 at age 15 1/2 - and Yukon died suddenly on Feb 1st, 2006 - 4 days before his 11th birthday. We are devestated.
Happy 15 1/2 big guy!!!

Happy HALF Birthday Ellis! ;D And I wish you more happy, healthy, content Half Birthdays.
Ellis's pictures and the post brought to mind the lyrics of "September Song" I think it is, especially::: "The days dwindle down to a precious few." ..... "These precious days I'll spend with you."
You are so fortunate to have had Ellis with you for this length of time.
Auggie has just turned 11, and I am already beginning to count the Quarter/Half years due to her splenectomy and diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma.
Savor every good day with ((((Ellis :-*))))

Oh Ellis, you are so beautiful. Happy 15 and a half birthday gorgeous boy.
Ellis looks like a wonderful chap! You gotta love an old gray face Labby. My Bessie is going on 13...getting more stubborn and slowing down. Her face is more white than yellow now, but the focus of her day remains mealtime!
Enjoy Ellis, and will these precious days to slow down.
