New To The Forum With Senior Lab

Hello Lab People!
We are new here, Sunbear is my 12 year old black Lab & he's my BEST friend & has been since bringing him home in 1994. Hes been to alot of different places & has seen alot for a dog. We live by the beach, so Sunbear gets to go swimming alot, as well as walk- we walk over an hour a day together 365 days a year, rain or shine. He is my pace-setter & motivator- if I'm lazy, he'll get me going! I was married until Sunbear was about 10 years old. We don't have any kids, Sunbear was our "kid". He was a "joint custody dog" for awhile, yes, it was written into the divorce decree & he went back & forth weekly between me & the ex. However, that didn't seem to work out very well, the ex wasn't taking care of him at all, so I took over full custody & Sunbear seems to be so much happier now- his fur isn't falling out, he's groomed on a regular basis & LOVES the groomer! I've debated getting another dog to keep him company when I'm at work, but I don't know if he'd want to share me with another pet. He likes to be right next to me when I have friends over, always positioning himself between me & whoever happens to be there. The vet says Sun is in very good shape for a dog his age, although he has a gray muzzle & paws. I get depressed seeing him getting old, sometimes worrying time is running out-does anyone out there feel that way about their senior Lab?? Anyhoo~ I love this website & very much enjoy reading about everyones Labs as well as the photos. If I can ever get my
