My Laddie will be 11 this year. I didn't realize how gray he was getting until I took some pics of him outside. How time flies.
Summer Fun
Modeling his new bandana
And his chicken. His chicken goes everywhere with him, infact I think he likes it more than he likes me! ALmost 6 years of pics and very very few without the chicken.

I love the seniors! They are all lovely pics. My sincere condolences to those of you who have lost your friends. Here is a pic of my Karin, it was the last photo taken before she passed, she was 16. Karin was an anatolian/lab cross. When I was looking for a new pup I could not find any anatolian breeders in the UK, the breed is very rare in this country and often misunderstood. Karin (boo to us) was often mistaken for a rottie - even by the vet, it was only when we showed them her papers that they believed us. We got her from a rescue home the day before she was due to be euthanized, she was a year old on the day we picked her up - 17th August 1992, she went to sleep for the last time on 3 April 2007. I still miss that girl so much it hurts, but I often talk about her to Harvey, particularly if he does something that would be typical of her behaviour. She was a great dog but went down hill fast, you can see in the pic that she had a scabby nose, but that only started in the last few days. She was, and always will be, our beautiful girl.

The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue.

I'm new here, and I know that some of you may know me from elsewhere, but for those of you who don't know us, I would love to share my very special girl with you.
Miss Lucy is my yellow dog. I adopted her from a rescue group that I met through another lab forum in November 2009. Lucy suffers from systemic mast cell tumor disease (yes, it's cancer and thankfully she is showing only one symptom of systemic disease) and based on when we think her first MCT formed, we think she is about 9 or 10 years old.
But her spirit is so young and I love her with my whole heart.
She hates getting her feet wet and muddy.
But she is tough as nails.
And as goofy as they come, just like a Lab should be.
Thanks for looking. This is a great thread. I love seeing everyone's pictures of their seniors.![]()

I love the crown of stars on her head, as though a little girl might have put them there.![]()
Until the day he left us, he always wanted to do everything he used to do. But he was not able any longer.
