We adopted an 8 year old senior lab, who like Lucy, needs to be with us all of the time. We have had a real problem when my wife has to go to work, and I have to go to run errands. The vet told us to give her three 25 mg generic Benadryl pills, so she sleeps most of the time we are gone. We have to hide all of the easily available food. Sometimes she sleeps with no problems, sometimes she gets agitated and pulls the slip covers off of the couch. She smells my wife's scent on them as she reads on the couch. Your problem is similar to when my wife goes to the basement where she has her home office. She closes the door almost all the way and puts a door stop on it. Our dog patiently waits for her to come back upstairs. You might try the Benadryl and see if she will go to sleep. Put a blanket with your scent on it that she can lay on it. If that doesn't work you can call Acorn and see how much a chair lift costs. Best of luck.

I absolutely agree with you Boygeorge. The carelift is an excellent harness for any dog that is old or injured.Am sure it will be useful in taking him up the stairs instead of moving downstairs.
