    DefaultMitzi

Mitzi, 12, has been having trouble jumping into bed at night. Half the time, her back end couldn't make it up and I would give her a lift. She really doesn't like me to help her. (When Judy sees, she puts her front end on the bed then turns and looks at me to lift her rear too.) So I took out the frame and put the box springs and mattress directly on the floor so Mitz can make it up without my help. I know it's just a matter of time before I break a toe on the box springs but Mitzi is worth it.

Awww I know what you mean. Our girl is 10 and she is starting to have a harder time getting up on the bed. I try to encourage her not to get up there.

I know it would be safer for her not to jump up and off a higher place, so I have three dog beds in the room too. I noticed that she seems to sleep better in bed, snoring the whole night, than on the dog beds when she would move around a lot at night.

She has always slept on the bed that is what makes it even harder to deal with.

We built a platform for Coleman when he started having problems getting into bed, the others all use it now. Guess it might have just been easier to do like you did and just drop the bed. I hope Mitzi enjoys sleeping on the bed and knows how much you love her for helping her to do that
