    Default A senior Lab

A senior Lab has the power to grab your heart more so than a cute puppy. It hurts to see her have trouble getting up or going up stairs. It hurts to see her rather lie down than play. It hurts to see her want to walk slowly on the walk. It hurts to know the day she will leave you forever draws nearer each day, and you treasure each minute with her. Then there are the times your spirit soares when she suddenly wants to play, jumps in the water for a swim, catches her frisbee, prances on her walk, takes her favorite toy to bed, begs for an extra treat, her eyes light up and you can see the puppy in her again. The tail wag suddenly makes your day.
I'll take the lows with the highs and thank God for every day I have had with Mitzi since Jan. 2000 and pray for many more days with her ahead.

So, so very well said. It tears your heart out and make you smile with thankful thoughts all at the same time.

Very true. I treasure every moment I have with my old guy, Deacon. I was working Diesel with a training bumper tonight, and Deke got a few fetches, too. You should've seen how happy and proud he was!

I adoped an older boy and I love him to pieces. I wish more people would adopt senior dogs. I'm sad that I won't have many years with Elvis, but I'm glad he's mine.

My oldest will be 10 soon, and I can't figure out where the time has gone! I've had her since she was just a couple of months old, and can not imagine my life without her. We have been so fortunate because CJ has never had any health problems, other than a small spur on her front leg joint. When she went to the Dr last week for her yearly checkup, and he said she was in excellent health. I get teased for treating my babies like children, but that's only from people who dont understand that they ARE! lol
Nobody loves me as much as my dogs do!
