Mandy is currently on day 2 of recovering from Tight Rope surgery to repair her ACL. Thankfully she is a mellow pup to begin with; the real challenge is that I am 37 weeks pregnant and we also have a 4.5 year old. Thankfully I am off work and have the time to do her therapies and administer the meds at the right times.
She is tolerating her passive range of motion and her ice. I try to time it with her medication to reduce the discomfort. She will be starting her rehab with a specialist next week.
I am interested in talking with other people who have gone through the Tight Rope with their fur baby.

Java didn't have TR, but she did have both ACLs repaired last year, when she was a year old. She had TPLOs.
TR is tough...because there are serious issues with bone tunnel expansion somewhere around a year post op.
ACL repair of any kind is a challenge.
Good luck!
That doesn't sound good with the tunnel expansion. Our doc didn't mention that. Does it change with the age of the dog?? Mandy is 5.5 years.
Thanks for your reply.

No, the issue doesn't change with the age of the dog.
It happens to some dogs-it happens more often than not-but not all dogs that I have seen, although because of the relative newness of the procedure it's hard to say what will happen 5 years down the road.
Just keep an eye on her...especially in the 6 month-1 year time frame..if she starts having issues with that knee again take her back in to the ortho.
Just a quick update on Mandy. She is now about 17 days post op from the tight rope and doing awesome! She had her staples removed at day 14; I can't get over how the incision has healed. She still has a pocket of fluid but the doctor says that will be reabsorbed by the body in time.
She is attending therapy once a week on top of her walks and PROM. She loves the water therapy; she was in for 17 minutes last week and was exhausted when she came out.

Glad everything is going well. You are lucky to have a mellow lab and I love your siggy
P.S. congrats on the pregancy. My aunt is pregnant and not due till September. She had a missicariage last year which devastated her. Now she is having a healthy baby girl ( she has always wanted a girl). Her son is happy to and always "talks"to the baby.
