Marley is an 11 year old lab with some issues since having a small lumpectomy Monday. She simply will not eat her food (Blue Adult Chicken). She has always eaten like a typical Lab, gone in the blink of an eye. However, she will not touch it. She will eat Boiled Chicken & Rice and other treats. She had stomach issues but that has cleared.
Vet visit for shots Cerenia & Famotidine and Subcutaneous fluids Wed. They thought this would help. We have stopped the antibiotics (per vet) and she still will not touch her food but eats her treats and Boiled Chicken & Rice. Calling vet again but wanted help from others who may have thoughts.
Had parasite tests and all other standard tests. She does have thyroid issues was blood work was fine.
Thanks.
You need to discuss this with your vet. However, there was a recent recall of Blue Buffalo. Maybe she's trying to tell you the food is "off"?

The food she had been eating is on the recall list. I've thrown out the bag as we store it in a sealed container so i don't know if our bag was bad. Perhaps Petco keeps record of the actual bag sold as we are on their rewards program so the purchase is documented. I would think as a big retailer they should have pulled any bad product. Thanks for the heads up. This was only our second bag of this food. I just switched from Wysong.
Too late now, but in the future keep all food in their bag and then put the bag in the container.

Have you washed her dish thoroughly?
Mandy is currently recovering as well and wouldn't eat her food dry; so I added water and some frozen peas. This seemed to do the trick. Maybe mix some of the boiled chicken and rice with her food if she likes that. Hope she's back to normal soon.
