1 cup melted butter or margarine
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3 eggs
3 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 cup milk
2 Tbs cream sherry (optional)
6 slices candied pineapple, chopped
1 cup candied red cherries, chopped
1 cup candied green cherries, chopped
2 cups chopped dates
1 (15 oz.) package white raisins
7 cups chopped nuts
Combine butter and sugar mixing well. Add eggs and beat well. Combine dry ingredients; add to butter mixture alternately with milk; mixing well after each addition. Stir in sherry, if desired. Stir fruit and nuts into dough, mixing well. Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls onto well greased cookie sheets. Bake at 300 degrees for about 20 minutes. Yield about 16 dozen!!!! NOTE: I wonder if that is a typo in the recipe ... that's a LOT of cookies!!
