I know this is going to sound stupid...but how do you make cranberry sauce from real cranberries? I am having Thanksgiving dinner this year, and I don't want to serve canned. Anyone have a good recipe for Cranberry sauce?

Just add enough water to keep them from burning and simmer slow till done with sugar to taste.

Put a bag of fresh cranberries in a food processor, throw in a whole orange - peel and all, and some sugar. Process until it looks like a relish.

I follow the directions on the back of the package of cranberries. I also spice it up a little by adding fresh orange peel and some cinnamon. I'm with you I don't like the canned anymore now that I discovered making it fresh![]()
I just boil a bag of cranberries in a cup of water, a cup of orange juice and sugar. Lot's of sugar!
I boil until the berries pop and then chill. It comes out fine every time.

Love the orange idea, ladies. I'm going to make a big batch this weekend and then let them set for Thursday.

My Dad used to make candied orange peel and then he would add that to the cranberries. I just add the orange to the cranberries following the package direction as well. I add the rind as well!
